{Vienna,Tenley, or neither?}

Vienna , Tenley……………. or neither? Your thoughts? Mine……………….Isn’t it ironic that he felt so inclined to go back on the show to convince the last Bachelorette that one of the guys was not right for her? Yet,with all the sirens,bells,and whistles,he still says that he doesn’t care what the girls say about Vienna.Hmmmmm…..
I’m hoping for a happy ending.A real shocker. We’ll see.
I wanna know what you think?

{ 2o things to ask your florist}

Flowers by Lisa Foster Floral and Design

The theme and palette of your wedding will be represented in the way the ceremony and reception spaces are decorated, so it is very important to hire a florist who understands your vision and can work within your budget. Before selecting a florist or event designer for your wedding, get the answers to these questions.

1. How long have they been making wedding arrangements?

2. What style do they specialize in — modern, traditional, romantic, etc.?

3. Can I see a portfolio of their work?

4. Are they familiar with my ceremony and reception location?

5. How do they charge for their services — a flat fee or per-item fee?

6. What is the cost of each item: bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, etc.?

7. Can the florist also provide an aisle runner, candles, candlesticks/holders, trellises, potted plants, etc.?

8. Can they work within my budget?

9. How far in advance will they make my bouquet and centerpieces?

10. Will the florist make a sample bouquet and centerpiece for me to see?

11. When will the flowers be delivered? Is there a delivery fee?

12. What time will the florist return to pick up any rentals?

13. Will they make a tossing bouquet for me? Is there a fee for it?

14. Can they tell me how to preserve my bouquet?

15. How many weddings will they be doing the weekend of mine?

16. Can they recommend seasonal flowers to help me save money?

17. Do they have creative and original ideas?

18. How much is the required deposit?

19. When is the balance due?

20. When do I need to give them the final table count for centerpieces?

Jennifer and Alex are a beautiful couple and I really enjoyed planning their wedding with them. Although Jennifer is originally from the Northshore, she and Alex reside in the great city of New York. I initially met Jennifer when we both flew to New Orleans for a round of site visits and vendor appointments. Needless to say we hit the ground running!

After months of searching, we landed on Zion Lutheran Church as the ceremony location. It is a fabulously charming church on St. Charles Avenue.  This intimate setting allowed Jennifer and Alex’s closest family members and friends truly witness their nuptials without any strain or distractions. The other vendors were selected with ease. Having great working relationships with the crème de la crème in New Orleans always make it easy for a client to decide on select services.

After the rehearsal at Zion Lutheran Church on Lutheran Church, the groom’s parents hosted their guests at Bacco for an amazing dinner.

On their wedding day, Jennifer and Alex prepared for the day at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. Jennifer and her bridal party got pampered by the artists of Get Polished in the Presidential Suite as Alex and his groom’s party were in a nearby 2-story suite. The personal flowers were hand delivered by Fat Cat Flowers, their amazing arrangements were strategically placed throughout the ballroom and the church was accentuated with their aisle décor and altar arrangements.

The Bourbon Orleans Hotel was not only the reception venue, it was the host hotel for their out of town guests. This made for a seamless transfer by Alert Transportationof the wedding guests from Bourbon Orleans Hotel to Zion Lutheran Church then back to the hotel for the reception.

To truly personalize their wedding, Jennifer and Alex created a specialty drink menu which included a cocktail created by the groom’s grandmother and requested the bakery replicate a family recipe for their wedding cake.  This really added that personal touch making their day about bringing the families together.

Jennifer and Alex wine and dined their guests with a fabulous seated dinner created by the chefs at the Bourbon Orleans Hoteland danced the night away to music spun by Rock-It Productions. The day’s events were captured by Jessica Bachmann Photography and Studio Vieux Carre.

Everyone had a blast and second lined right out of the reception, ending the evening on a high note!

Laissez les bons temps rouler!
